So it's been a long while since I updated it due to not planning on going to NWG but now I have new found enthusiasm to get a 1650pt army to a standard to get around 40 of the 50 painting points going. Really only started yesterday but here are the scouts progress from yesterday and today:

Will get better pics tomorrow when there is some decent light and will have an update on Meph/the librarian.

I like the red capes, it hints at their Blood Angels heritage. You find the new paints make it easier to do yellow than old ones?

Oh way easier, all it is is a white spray, bleached bone layer, devlan mud the recesses, highlight as you want and then 3-4 washes of Lamenters Yellow.

So, say I'm lazy, and spray em black (hate working off white) spray them army painter bone colour, and follow the rest of the steps, it would more or less turn out the same?

No idea, it may end up being darker due to the black base instead of the white.

Don't bother with the black primer, go straight for the army painter spray. I'm fairly sure that they can be used as primers

I think you mean 41 points, Dave.

Yup! He's class for 175pts. Should be making him tonight.

Cool, post up a pic when you're done. I'll be modelling Vaylund Cal, the Sons of Medusa Iron Thane from the second book.

First round Badab War challenge if Darragh allows it?

That'd be awesome, well up for it.

Thanks! I must say I'm very happy with the bases, came out better than I expected. I must also thank Caolan for suggesting the brown rim instead of the grey that I had planned, it looks infinitely better.
