Cheers Burkhardt.
That's quite easy to follow a d some great advice.
I think the second technique you described would be best described by video gamers as a type of interlacing technique. I can see how it's quick and powerful too.

Might dig out Astorath the Expensive and paint the bugger up…

Good that it helps.

A small update, I started to base my models:

The lads are magnetised on the bases so I can a) transport them easier and b) change bases for tournaments to right size.

Let me know what you think.

Class. Perfect diorama. I am glad you have normal bases for gaming though!

Post Re: [40k] LeGenerals Eldar and Blood Angels
Work and Family was keeping me busy but during the last two weeks I spent some time with my men-dollies. I got two games in against Eoin from Cork, one win, one loss and really nice games. Plus, they gave me a better fell for playing Blood Angels and a good idea of what I really want to include in my army. But I also moved on painting and modelling wise. I build a few bases and I started to paint some vehicles. I probably have to get more Blood Red and Scorched Brown soon...Even though my painting plan failed after my professor was giving me deadline after deadline I still plan to go to Warpcon next January with my Blood Angels and thus I want to finish them up by then, or at least 1750p.

Anyway, these are the tanks I started on.

So, a few more updates. Firstly on the Razorback where I started with some freehands. They still need a good deal of work, but I think your getting the idea:

And some units I haven't shown yet, even though they have been sitting in my army case for quite some time (as usual: progress ~80%; I really have to finish some stuff up soon...)

you sir are indeed an artist, it would be an honour to play against either for these armies.
one thing have you ever thought of getting the termi's from space hulk as i'm sure you would do a great job on them & they'd look fab in your army.

Thanks Caolan and Crouchy. Since I'll try to get those guys ready for Warpcon next year, we might have a chance to meet on the field of battle, if you're there, crouchy.

As for the "child", it's my new top secret changeling breed; ready when the new chaos dex comes out...

The blond, blue-eyed thing has been tried before.

Hurry up and paint the rest of the army: Kirby's been asking after your stuff after the Sang Guard were showcased there.

With THAT I gonna wait for the next Guard codex...

Why is Kirby asking you? And where was "my" Sangguard showcased?

I posted it up on my blog and then he linkied to it before posting it himself. I've tried looking for the url's myself but I can't find the damn thing so I'll need more time to link it.

Kirby was asking if you had any more stuff done since the Sang Guard. I told him that you've lost some of your Germanic efficiency since you've been here so long and he'd have to wait.

I didn't even know that you posted it up on your blog...Anyway, here is the progress on my Razorback. Freehands: done, Battle Damage: I started with the scratches (done), I need to do the exhausts (black), some oil smear and maybe dust from driving around. Then there is also all the details left. But I think it already tells the story...

Thanks, Osneros.

During the weekend I started on some bases.

Obviously the models itself still need some doing (esp. Weathering to melt them in with the style of the bases) but that's the general scheme for all bases of the army.

And thanks to Bloodbath for providing an old stereo which I am using for my bases (old industrial rubble).

Cheers

Thanks a lot lads! But esp. from you, crouchy, this must be an understatement, from all what I've heard (I would still love to see pics of your army :-)).

Anyway, I finished up a few models: razorback, 5 Termis and 5 Assault Marines.

I can't kick wait to kick the crap out of these. Now, be an efficient German stop taking pics until everything else is finished or we'll be forced to get Blizzard's efficient German to put his NMM models up here.

I can give you a game on Sunday before/ after painting.

And I would love to see pics of the other Germans army. Is this Jannik, the guy from the german ETC team?

No: apparently they were painted on commission by someone else. There's a guy that works in Blizzard and he's started to paint some green & black marines and they're looking pretty.

Post Re: [40k] LeGenerals Eldar and Blood Angels
I did paint some stuff during the last weeks, but nothing finished yet. So no pics.

But I did take a pic of the so far finished (ok, more or less finished) models (click to enlarge):

Image

Additionally, I built a few things prior to starting a P250 project next month (i.e. painting 250 p every 4 weeks for 6 months). I don't expect to adhere to the schedule but I take it as motivation to get my 1850p list finished till Warpcon.

Anuways, that's my deathcompany, which I will paint in a way that they can be played both as DC and normal Assault squads:
Image

And that's the bases for the DC and another 5 man squad of assault marines:
Image

And gaming bases for the Sangguard:
Image

As mentioned before, they are magnetised, so I can swap them onto the display bases to show off :D.
