Post tau battle damage
Hi,

I've decided to repaint my Tau warboss green and evil sunz sacrlet. I want to do some battle damage using sponges.
Thing is I dont know what colour to use as a base coat foe the damage. I was thinking Abaddon black or Dawnstone.
Any thoughts, Im staring on my new riptide so i don't want to screw it up

For chipping mix black anf a medium brown. Make a nice dark brown colour thats almost black. Dont worry about what would be realistic for a tau battle suit in terms of the chipping colour showing through. If it looks correct to the eye it will look cool. And if it needs explaining then it wont look great( i.e. using some fancy tau metal for colour chipping).

I've used the chipping technique on a few different colours now and dark brown works and 'looks' right in them all. I wouldn't go buying a new paint to do it if you already have black and brown, but that's personal choice really.

Here's some green Termies using dark brown chipping with a sponge and brush. Not sure if it's the same green you want to use, but still.
