The DGG meet every Wednesday night in Gamers World on Jervis Street in Dublin from six in the evening. It is the oldest running gaming club in Ireland open to the public, and boast one of the largest varieties of games and players in the country. Games played included DBM, Flames of War, Warhammer 40K, Warehammer Fantasy Battle, Magic/Card Games/RPGs, Battletech and Warmachine/Hordes – as well as some less popular games like Aeronuatica Imperialis and Full Thrust. With a wide range of taste the chances are someone in the club has played or tried most games.
Competitive players can try their hand against some of the top ranked 40k players in Ireland while those who prefer fun games can play against more fluff-based players. The club also sporadically runs campaigns, campaign days, painting and terrain making events.
DGG highlights include winning best club at a GW HQ event, running a 20 player 3 month campaign, being part of the world’s largest active Blood Bowl league and providing the best scoring players in Ireland’s winning 40K Home Nations team.
