Ultramarine Space Marines battling a Tyranid brood
Warhammer 40,000 is the game of visceral skirmishes in the the vicious 41st millenium. The sounds of buzzing chainswords, ratling autoguns, concussive bolter shells and whizzing lasers echo against a background of crunching tank treads, whirring jetbikes and the dull thump of heavy ordinance.
In this universe, the massively armed and armoured superhuman Space Marines battle alongside countless Imperial Guard soldiers against the huge and varied enemies of mankind – from the elegant and enigmatic Eldar and their twisted Dark Eldar nemises, to the resilient and terrifying Orks…to the youthful Tau, in search of their own truth and the evil Necrons, bent on the destruction of everything. And that’s not to mention the threat from the insect-like swarms of Tyranids or the real darkness in the universe – the Traitor Space Marines and the powers of Chaos.
In this game, the players take control of a handful of squads of troops of their favourite race and battle in scenarios against their enemies. Tanks, skimmers, artillery and famous heroes are to be found here, but the real heroes are often the valiant foot troops.
It is a time of darkness and a time for heroes against the coming night.
